Assembly & Test Technician
Purpose of Job
The company designs and manufactures a range of high-precision, electro-mechanical instrumentation for use in the oil and gas industry. The purpose of this role is to mechanically and electronically assemble and test the high-tech instruments and systems to the required industry standards.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Ability to interpret circuit and wiring diagrams accurately.
2. Mechanical assembly and electrical wiring of electro-mechanical instrumentation.
3. Environmental testing of instruments and systems.
4. Electronic Trouble shooting to component level, including hand assembling individual components on both surface mount and through hole PCB’s, using high and very high temperature solder.
5. Repair, maintenance, and test of client equipment, as required.
6. Good maintenance and appropriate storage of test equipment to ensure that all is fully functional when required.
7. Good housekeeping at all times.
8. Other duties may be included in this role, but which will be consistent with the role.
9. Operate in accordance with Guardian procedures and processes at all times.
10. Comply with all HS&E requirements
Health and Safety
11. High Voltage power supplies used on occasions
12. Solder use
13. IPA and CoSHH items to be used as instructed in accordance with CoSHH requirements
14. PPE requirements (Safety footwear, goggles, gloves, ear protection) – all provided.
