This Stakeholder Engagement Lead (South) will report to the Major Projects Consents Manager and will work within Capital Programme based in our Crawley office. You will be a permanent employee.
You will attract a salary of £51,245 plus car and a bonus of 3%. This role can also offer blended working after probationary period (6 months) - 3 days in the office and 2 remote

JOB PURPOSE:
You will provide support to Capital Programme (CP) projects whilst developing stakeholder engagement strategies across UK Power Networks and the Alliance, following company best practice and provide support to the CP senior team for engagement admin tasks, meetings and working groups.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Working with the Major projects consents manager and project teams, manage engagement with project stakeholders across local authorities, Central Government, statutory and non-statutory bodies (including environment and technical organisations), industry and business, land and property, communities, residents and other parties to establish working relationships
Develop stakeholder engagement plans following the overarching stakeholder engagement strategy
Manage stakeholder mapping and prepare communications to stakeholders and respond to enquiries
Support all Project Managers with a focus on the move towards Net Zero and Green Recovery for Major Projects across the SPN region with stakeholder engagement activities, providing guidance and directing their workload to ensure timescales and requirements are met. Provide administrative support for the project management teams, including; creation of the weekly SHEWQT Newsletter, SADS reporting, support with updating presentations
Ensure accurate audit trail maintained for all stakeholder engagement and all contact/activities are recorded on stakeholder database to report on activities and provide important data to Ofgem and the wider UKPN stakeholder engagement team (either through Microsoft Form or Tractivity) through digitisation of forms. Assess and approve planned outage communication plans for the SPN region, supporting the Operations Manager for the area with auditing proposals for communications
Contribute to weekly/monthly reports for PMO and Project Board and weekly Delivery Team conference call.
Monthly internal engagement with relevant teams (Press team, Recruitment, Marketing, Service development team, contributing to the Alliance newsletter) to ensure consistency across the business
Demonstrate creative methods of engagement with positive results with little to no budget
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The stakeholder management responsibilities within the our business are headed by the Head of Engineering who reports to the Director of Capital Programme.
Within each project, the Stakeholder Engagement Lead (South) reports to the portfolio and programme managers of that region (South, AMT and SMT members.
The Stakeholder Engagement Lead's function is organised as three sections:
Manage stakeholder management across the South supporting the Major Projects Consents Manager and the wider business through collaborative work, presentations, briefings, and consultation events
Work on proactive and strategic engagement for projects through collaborative work, presentations, briefings, and consultation events
Work on reactive and enquiry-based engagement for projects
SKILLS, QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Educated to high A-level standard or equivalent in English Literature or equivalent.
CIPR and industry experience. With a high level of technical understanding concerning the Customer journey, BMOC's and Collaboration incentive opportunities.
Required qualifications for role:
Competence and experience resolving Stakeholder Engagement matters relating to project delivery.
Working knowledge of primary and secondary legislation concerning utilities' operations; in particular, statutory instruments affecting electricity distribution assets.
Familiar with the roles of, and relationships between, important external partners in the electricity utility businesses - including government, environmental, statutory authorities and business departments and agencies.
Able to lone work, but a team player being a lateral thinker with excellent negotiation skills and excellent public relations skills
