Job Title: Controls Engineer Location: Glascoed, South Wales Salary: £52,665 (inclusive of 25% shift allowance) What you'll be doing: Operation & management of a high-volume processing facility Monitoring and diagnosis of plant and equipment ensuring the process runs safely, efficiently and in compliance with company policy & regulatory standards Observing and operating control panels including Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, CCTV and other monitoring systems Tracking real-time data, alarms and trends to detect anomalies or deviation from routine operations Conducting initial diagnosis of fault conditions, and escalating to relevant support functions, resetting out of sequence faults, re-homing of robots & Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV') Coordinating and overseeing the integration of support personnel and facilities, coordinating maintenance, systems and production support to operation of the facility Maintaining detailed logs of system activities, maintenance actions and incidents, managing Permit to Work (PTW) in area of responsibility & coordinating management of change Executing emergency shutdown procedures if required, and assisting in coordinating emergency response protocol Your skills and experiences: Essential: Science / Engineering degree, HNC / HND or equivalent; or time served apprenticeship in the process industry Awareness and exposure to PLC and HMI Systems Desirable: Experience in operations & monitoring systems in a control room environment Proficiency and understanding of PLC systems, SCADA or Siemens TIA portal Understanding of robotics/ automation within multiple operational environments Sound understanding of Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Process Control Plans, (PCP), and work instructions Benefits: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.
