Overview:
Legacy Hotels and Resorts have an exciting opportunity for an experienced General Manager to join and lead the exceptional team at the New Place Hotel, Southampton.
New Place is a stunning hotel and conference venue. Ornate wrought-iron gates welcome you to a charming venue ideally suited for meetings, events, weddings, and leisure breaks. This 111-bedroom property seamlessly blends traditional and modern spaces over 32 acres of landscaped gardens, including our Grade I listed manor house which houses a restaurant, a bar and meeting rooms.

* Bring demonstrable commercial acumen with a track record of delivering strong top- and bottom-line results in a comparable property.
* Be an experienced hotelier who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands how to lead with both strategy and heart.
* Possess exceptional leadership skills with the ability to energise, engage, and develop high-performing teams.
* Be a natural communicator and negotiator, able to influence stakeholders, build strategic relationships, and close high-value deals.
* Demonstrate excellent sales, marketing, and revenue management insight, with an eye for identifying new business opportunities and driving growth.
* Be an empathetic, resilient, and customer-obsessed professional, focused on delivering memorable guest experiences that translate into loyalty and increased spend.
* Have a deep understanding of stakeholder management, from owners and investors to local partners and community leaders.
In this role, you will:
* Lead the commercial strategy for the property, working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue teams to drive occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR growth.
* Take full ownership of the P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning processes, with a strong focus on financial performance and ROI.
* Ensure operational excellence across every touchpoint – from front desk to food & beverage – ensuring a seamless, brand-aligned guest journey.
* Champion a sales-first mindset across the hotel, motivating teams to exceed targets and capture market share.
* Drive brand awareness through innovative marketing campaigns, partnerships, and PR initiatives aligned to key business goals.
* Be a visible and inspirational leader, embodying the company culture and setting the tone for excellence and accountability.
* Maintain full compliance with legal and safety standards while creating a supportive and productive environment for all team members.
