What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to recruit a science leader who:
Is a brilliant classroom practitioner with a least two years teaching experience (i.e. not an ECT) to lead our science provision.
With a passion for all things science, you will build upon the success of the existing post holder to promote the importance of science within our curriculum, whilst at the same time supporting colleagues to plan and deliver stimulating and challenging science lessons.
Most importantly, we want you to foster a love science in our pupils, enabling them to see its value in the wider world.
More broadly, you will be a model professional, an excellent classroom teacher who can set an excellent example to pupils and colleagues alike.

Essential:
1 Highly effective teaching skills with a record of high quality teaching
2 Ability to analyse and self-reflect on own practice and support others to improve their teaching in Science
3 Good communication skills (written, oral and inter-personal)
4 Ability to implement and evaluate a school development plan
5 A passion for Science; strong subject knowledge
6 Well organised and able to prioritise a demanding workload
7 Able to build and maintain positive relationships with children and staff
Desirable:
8 Experience of leading a school project or curriculum area
9 A willingness to invest in own professional learning, particularly in the area of curriculum, to support their proficiency within the role
10 Familiarity with the national curriculum 2014 in its entirety particularly progression from key stage to key stage
11 Experience of teaching across the primary age range
12 A degree in science or engineering
13 NPQ qualification middle or senior leadership
