About The Role: As a Full-time Alternative Provision Learning Support Assistant (LSA), This role involves supporting the school’s behaviour provision and assisting students who have been temporarily removed from their classes due to behavioural challenges. It may also include providing support for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school is seeking experienced professionals or individuals with relevant transferable skills. Responsibilities of Full-time Alternative Provision Learning Support Assistant (LSA): Offer tailored academic and emotional support to students with additional needs. Assist in delivering lessons and learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff. Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support their engagement and progress. Encourage positive behaviour and implement behaviour management strategies effectively. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to ensure individual student needs are met. Provide one-to-one and small-group support to enhance learning outcomes. Support students in developing essential life and social skills. Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes student well-being. The successful candidate will: Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or Support Worker in an alternative provision, PRU, SEMH, or mainstream setting is highly desirable. Support students in the school’s behaviour provision, assisting those who have been removed from class due to behavioural challenges. Provide targeted support, which may include Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) interventions to help students re-engage with their learning. A patient, resilient and empathetic approach to working with students facing challenges. A strong understanding of behavioural management techniques and SEN support strategies. A relevant qualification in Education, Psychology, Child Development, or SEN Support (desirable but not essential). The ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
