We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Piping and Fabrication Maintenance Lead on behalf of our client. This role will see you responsible for overseeing and managing the Fabrication Term Maintenance Contract, with significant input into several other maintenance contracts. The successful candidate will ensure maximum availability of plant and equipment while coordinating essential piping and fabrication activities across client sites. Key Responsibilities Manage the Fabrication Term Maintenance Contract on behalf of the client. Provide input into the 3rd Party Inspection, Painting, Lagging, and Scaffolding Contracts. Work closely with the Senior Maintenance Engineer (SME) to control Maintenance, Major Maintenance, and Capital Budgets. Oversee and deliver small to medium-sized projects within budget areas. Deputise for the SME when required. Plan, issue work instructions, and coordinate maintenance and shutdown activities related to piping and fabrication on various client sites. Estimate, define, and manage Capital and Major Maintenance Projects. Coordinate Major and Minor Maintenance work plans, including work pack creation and necessary field controls. Administer CMMS / Asset Management Database. Ensure proper Controlled Drawing Clarifications/Amendments as needed. Investigate failures and recommend changes or improvements to plant, equipment, systems, and procedures. Lead and motivate contractor staff, ensuring high performance and compliance with client specifications. Contribute to the Management Team to ensure goals are met, including responsibilities in Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems. Assist in MOC and RCA activities and manage your own MOC & NCR actions. Oversee procurement and purchase requisitions as required. Attend and participate in relevant team and project meetings. Key Accountabilities Manage piping and fabrication maintenance activities and small projects to minimize cost and operational impact, ensuring Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards are consistently met. Ensure contractors fully understand and meet the organizational goals and objectives set by the client. Qualifications and Experience Required: HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering (or currently working towards a similar qualification). Previous experience in organizing, leading, and controlling contractor workforce. Extensive Piping & Fabrication experience, particularly within Petrochemical or Tier 1 COMAH establishments. Desired: Knowledge of Atmospheric Storage Tank Inspection & NDT within a Petrochemical or Tier 1 COMAH environment. Experience with Inspection & NDT. Engineering experience in marine or arduous environments. Proficiency in CMMS systems. Experience with LOLER, PUWER, CoSHH, Work at Height, and Confined Space Working. Modern Safety Management qualifications. Project Management and Turnaround Planning experience. CAD experience. Internal Quality Auditing experience. Oil Spill Response knowledge. Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities Promote safe working practices and procedures across the team. Ensure that all engineering specifications are adhered to. Drive continuous improvement in safety and reduction of accidents/incidents. Apply COSHH regulations in all engineering activities. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations. Quality Responsibilities Manage work orders, maintenance, and projects as part of the client’s Quality Management System. Monitor contractor performance to ensure work meets the required quality standards. Maintain thorough records and ensure adherence to piping and fabrication QA standards.
