A Support Worker will be expected to:
Work within the Policies and Procedures, the overall objectives of the company and in line with the CQC’s 5 fundamental standards.
Strive for excellence in the quality of care of the service users and ensure that it is implemented and carried out effectively.
The candidate must be able to enable and support service users independent living skills, community involvement and meaningful activities.
Ensure they have good communication, good practices, and consistent approaches within the staff team.
Form good professional relationships between relatives, friends, advocates, and MDT professionals.
Ensure that they are familiar with all the service users care plans and that they are completed at the end of each shift.
Roles and responsibilities:
• Assisting Service Users with toileting, eating, bathing, dressing and other aspects of daily living
• Accompanying Service Users when they are in the community or going to a day centre.
• To support and enable the Service Users to maintain skills and personal interests whilst delivering person-centred care unique to everyone.
• To make sure that the service users are encouraged to participate as fully as possible in the daily running of the home.
• To make sure that the service users are encouraged to be as independent as practically possible.
• To ensure that all accidents, incidents, and physical intervention forms are completed fully, accurately, and legibly.
• To ensure that the environment is safe for the service users and staff. To report any defects which may infringe on anyone’s Health and Safety.
• To ensure that high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are always maintained. To make sure that all the communal areas of the home are tidy.
• Making sure that the service users bedroom/flats are personalised. To make sure that they are kept tidy with the assistance of the individual concerned.
• To complete the Care Certificate and the Candour Care Services induction
• To attend mandatory training and any other training identified during supervision, appraisals, and PDP’s
• To ensure that all your work practices are compliant with Candour Care Services policies and procedures and with the CQC 5 fundamental standards.
• To be involved in monitoring visits.
