Assistant Financial Accountant
up to £45k DOE

Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
* Support compliance with accounting standards (UK GAAP), tax regulations, and internal policies. Help prepare for audits and ensure timely submission of financial reports.
* Conduct regular monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and assist with the resolution of discrepancies.
* Assist with internal audits, providing necessary documentation and supporting evidence for compliance reviews.
* Assist with KYC submissions, VAT submissions, sales tax compliance within the US
* Assist with the annual and quarterly budgeting and forecasting process in relation to capex as well as input into group cashflow forecasting
* Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information flow, promoting a culture of financial accountability.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance function, contributing to increased efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
* AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA/CIMA.
* Previous experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within the hospitality industry (however not necessary)
* Strong understanding of financial control and compliance requirements.
* Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Dynamics Business Central is advantageous) and Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Jet Reporting
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
