Job Title: Team Leader Location: Swadlincote, DE12 8AN Shift: 10h Day, Weekend Shift Friday - Sunday 06:00-16:00 & Monday 06:00-16:00 Pay Rate: £30 316 per annum Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent (after 12 weeks) Position Summary: As a Team Leader you will be responsible for the operation of a section within the Warehouse function. Support the Management Team with the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, oversee a group of operators, and ensure an efficient warehouse operation to achieve business targets. You will be expected to provide line management to the team, coordinate their workloads, and offer support to ensure the team delivers on their responsibilities. This includes monitoring any issues and ensuring production targets, KPIs, and quality standards are met to satisfy customer requirements. Additionally, willing to develop the team by focusing on individual performance and support needs to achieve high standards, all while fostering a culture of safety Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Supervision: - Manage and lead a team of warehouse associates to meet daily, weekly, and monthly operational goals. - Provide training, mentoring, and performance feedback to team members. - Promote a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Operational Efficiency: - Oversee daily operations including receiving, storing, and distributing products. - Ensure efficient and accurate order picking, packing, and shipping processes. - Monitor and manage workflow to meet productivity and quality standards. Inventory Management: - Coordinate and perform regular inventory checks and audits. - Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper stock rotation. - Resolve inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions. Health and Safety: - Enforce company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. - Conduct regular safety inspections and report any hazards or incidents. - Promote a culture of safety awareness among team members. Continuous Improvement: - Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. - Collaborate with management to develop and execute strategic initiatives. - Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to drive improvements. Communication and Reporting: - Communicate effectively with team members, management, and other departments. - Prepare and present reports on team performance, inventory levels, and operational issues. - Participate in regular team meetings and provide updates on warehouse activities. Requirements, Qualifications and Knowledge: Proven experience as a Warehouse Team Leader with experience of supervising and motivating a team GCSEs Level A-C, NVQ Level 2, An appropriate warehousing qualification would be advantageous Certified in: Dangerous Goods Handling A supervisory qualification would also be beneficial A good working knowledge of health and safety and security requirements Knowledge and understanding of lean techniques may be advantageous Fork Lift Truck licence is a plus Team Leader skills with the ability to motivate, develop and supervise others Good communication and interpersonal skills Good IT skills, in particular spreadsheets and databases and a knowledge of warehouse systems Analytical and numerical Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure / cost of poor quality Good planning skills and able to meet targets and deadlines Excellent attention to detail skills If you are a dedicated and detail-oriented professional looking for a challenging and rewarding role in team management, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
