Teaching Assistant Teaching Personnel has been approached by a School in Burnley for a role which will start after the Christmas holidays. The school is in need of a full-time Teaching Assistant who is ambitious, empathetic, and understanding. The school caters for pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities and moderate learning difficulties. The majority of their students possess unique talents and ability which the school attempts to enhance and nurture. The school is extremely passionate about giving their students a meaningful learning experience by encouraging engagement and by a clear focus on lifelong learning. General duties will include: Work collaboratively with teachers and other professional agencies to provide effective support for learning activities. To work with children and young people who have extremely complex needs and, in some instances, life limiting conditions. Providing an appropriate level of emotional and physical support where necessary To provide support under the direction and supervision of teaching staff to assist pupils to access the curriculum and participate fully in school activities. Support pupils to understand instructions, support independent learning and inclusion of all pupils. Provide support to pupils who have communication difficulties also where English is an additional language. Implement and contribute to planned learning activities/teaching programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities according to pupils’ responses as appropriate. A candidate with experience within an educational setting would be ideal for this role. Experience specifically with SEN is ideal but not essential. The working hours are 8.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday. Rate of pay will be dependent on experience and will start from £12.90 p/h.
