Over 24% of our students have Special Educational Needs (SEND), across the four broad areas of need, including Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Moderate Learning Needs (MLD). It is crucial that you possess the patience and understanding to nurture these students, supporting their unique learning journeys. Requirements: Teaching qualification with QTS (essential) Commitment to inclusion and a belief in education for all (essential) SEND qualification or evidence of SEND training (desirable) Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with pupils (essential) Experience of teaching maths and numeracy skills at either primary level or in a specialist school environment (desirable) Knowledge of the curriculum with a proven ability to adapt teaching and personalise learning journeys to meet the range of needs of our students (essential) Ability to establish and maintain high-quality planning and assessment for learning (essential) Value collaboration with colleagues and parents/carers to ensure a shared approach to student support (essential) Understanding of specialist strategies to address difficulties in the four broad areas of need and familiarity with specific diagnoses such as: ASC, ADHD, and Moderate Learning Needs (essential) In addition, the ideal candidate should demonstrate a robust understanding of behavioural management techniques and how they can be effectively integrated into lesson delivery. You will need to be adaptable and creative in your teaching approach, using a variety of engaging resources and strategies to motivate, inspire students and prepare them for the next stage in their educational career. Your ability to reflect on and evaluate your practices will be crucial in helping students achieve their personal best. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification. Experience in teaching Maths, with a focus on SEND student needs. Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practices. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
