You’ll be the face of The Wrekin Housing Group to many of our tenants, so respectful, warm, and professional communication is a key part of this role. About the Role: We are looking for suitably qualified individuals who can demonstrate the ability to carry out a range of high-quality external building-related maintenance repairs and installations, and a range of minor repairs and associated works outside of their area of expertise. Key responsibilities will include assessing the work to be undertaken, ensuring it meets the agreed specification, and, where appropriate, organizing relevant materials for the work. You will also liaise with tenants and other customers while taking responsibility for completing the appropriate paperwork associated with the work being undertaken. Although the majority of your work will be mainly external build-based, you will need to have experience in other trades areas including plastering, tiling, carpentry, and general building maintenance to undertake repairs in line with our responsive repair demands. About You: We ask that you have a City and Guilds qualification or an associated qualification in one of the building trades, or equivalent time served in one of the building trades. Given the environment you will be working in, you must be able to demonstrate effective communication, strong team working, organizational and interpersonal skills, and maintain high levels of confidentiality at all times. You will be expected to promote a positive, friendly, and understanding attitude towards our customers and other colleagues to achieve consistency with the high levels of performance, efficiency, and quality that is expected of our Employees. Able to demonstrate post-apprenticeship experience of maintenance in domestic properties. Able to work unsupervised and as part of a team. A grasp of new technology is desirable.
