You will need to register if you do not already have an account Local Generic duties The post-holder will have a main base and will carry out clinics in several localities and be accountable to the supervising consultant. As part of the community paediatric team, they will provide generic community child health services in clinics (and other venues when appropriate). This work will include the following: Seeing children and their families referred for further assessment of complex problems. This will include child development, social, neurodevelopmental and educational paediatrics Providing paediatric linkage via public health nurses to local schools, nurseries and social services childrens establishments within the locality. Liaising with other disciplines and agencies on case management, and the preparation of reports. Rota duties If suitably trained and experienced, the post-holder will participate in a rota system for assessing children referred by social care services under child protection procedures with possible physical abuse. One session per week of protected time will be included within the job plan, and a consultant is always available for support. This work does not include an out of hours commitment although it may sometimes extend into early evening.
