H&J Martin Construction is one of Ireland’s longest standing and most successful Building Contractors. We have successfully contributed to the Built Heritage of Ireland, with the delivery of Iconic buildings such as the City Hall in Belfast, the Slieve Donard Hotel in County Down and Arnotts Department store in Dublin. Our contribution to Iconic sites has continued in recent times with the ongoing Development of the famous Kings Hall site in Belfast.
FK Lowry Ltd provide specialist piling solutions across the UK and Ireland. Established over 30 years ago and members of the Federation of Piling Specialist, the range of disciplines offered include the design and installation of bored CFA and rotary bored piling, contiguous and secant piled retaining walls and driven precast & steel piling.
Role Overview
Shape and deliver effective and value-add HSEQ strategies that meet both the operational needs of the businesses (FK Lowry and H&J Martin Construction), and the Group’s governance and assurance requirements
The HSEQ Manager will partner with the Managing Director and Senior Management Teams to provide an integrated service in all aspects of HSEQ management to all business unit activities. This will involve the development and delivery of strategic plans and objectives that support both operational requirements and the Group’s governance and assurance framework for health, safety, environmental and quality management
What you'll do
The following reflect the main tasks associated with your position:
* Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and integrate best practices.
* Plan, implement and manage a programme of regular health, safety, quality and environmental inspections and audits of projects produce reports on compliance.
* Risk Identification and Assessment
* Implementation and Monitoring of Control measures.
* Provide timely, expert advice on health, safety, and wellbeing.
* Lead and manage incident investigations and preventive actions.
* Develop health & safety programs, including training and competency frameworks.
* Serve as the main liaison for external stakeholders regarding the Integrated Management System.
* Participate in wider Group Health, Safety and Wellbeing initiatives.
* Collation of and presentation of safety data for monthly reporting
* Act as a coach and mentor to operational managers on a broad range of HSEQ issues, supporting them in embedding HSEQ policy and process where appropriate.
* Review, audit, and co-ordinate the HS, Env, Qty systems in compliance with ISO Standards .
* Support the management of operational bids through leading on the development of HSEQ strategies and responses.
* Engage with other HSEQ professionals in the business to ensure that good and poor HSEQ practice is communicated effectively to encourage continual improvement.
What you'll bring
As a HSEQ Manager your main skills and experience will include:
* Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Management, or equivalent qualifications/experience
* Experience leading a HSEQ function
* Chartered status or willing to work towards Chartered status with a relevant Institution
* Sound working knowledge of HSEQ laws, Guidance and Industry sector-specific HSEQ standards in relation to construction
* Have an in depth knowledge of ISO Standards and practical experience in the effective implementation of these ISO standards
* Demonstrable knowledge and experience of HSEQ generalist skills
* Technical Skills & Ability in Generalist HSEQ
