Job Title: Nurture Teacher with QTS (SEND/SEMH/EBSA)
Location: Liverpool
Hourly Rate: £26 - £30 PAYE
Working Hours: Flexible (Weekdays)
Job Description:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Nurture Teachers to join our team, providing support for children with SEND, SEMH needs, and those experiencing Emotional Based School Avoidance (EBSA). This is a highly rewarding role that involves working 1:1 with students both in the community and, on occasion, in their own homes.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience working with children who have SEND or SEMH needs and will be committed to creating a nurturing and supportive environment. You will play a vital role in helping students overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve success both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 nurture-based support to children with SEND, SEMH, and EBSA needs in the community and in students' homes.
* Develop and implement personalised support plans tailored to each student’s individual needs, focusing on academic progress and emotional well-being.
* Create a calm, nurturing, and positive environment that encourages engagement, helping students to build resilience and self-confidence.
* Support students with academic tasks, social skills, and emotional regulation.
* Maintain detailed records of student progress and the strategies used to support their development.
* Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure holistic support for each child.
* Promote independence and self-esteem by encouraging positive behaviours and goal-setting.
* Use effective behaviour management techniques to support students with challenging behaviours.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* Experience working with children with SEND and SEMH needs (desirable).
* A solid understanding of the challenges faced by children with additional needs, including EBSA.
* Experience working 1:1 with children in community and home settings.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children, families, and professionals.
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively.
* A clear, enhanced DBS check is required.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Experience or qualifications in SEND, SEMH, or related fields.
* Knowledge of emotional support strategies and techniques.
