The Company currently has a vacancy for a Chief Officer in its ERRV/MRV fleet.
Previous Experience On ERRV Or Similar Vessel Preferred.
Chief Officer is responsible for the following:
1. Deputising for Master in the event of his absence on board.
2. The safe navigation of the vessel during his hours of watch.
3. The safe and efficient running of the Deck Department (this role may be delegated on certain classes of ship).
4. Designating duties to additional crew members.
5. Maintenance of all marine safety equipment.
6. Coordinating on-board firefighting response and overseeing all internal firefighting activities as required.
7. Carrying out vessel inspections according to the Safety Inspection Programme and reporting any recorded defects to the Chief Engineer.
8. Investigating any accidents, incidents, or near misses and providing an accurate and detailed report to the Master for onward transmission to the QHSE Department.
9. The Chief Mate shall act as Shipboard Safety Officer (on ERRV, other vessels may delegate other officers).
10. Actively promoting and progressing the company Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental Policy.
11. Actively promoting inter-departmental communications.
