We are seeking enthusiastic and committed SEND Learning Support Assistants to join a team in specialist schools located near Battle in East Sussex. As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you'll be instrumental in providing essential support to students, ensuring they receive the guidance and assistance needed to thrive academically and emotionally. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored one-on-one and small group support to students with a variety of SEND, including autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning challenges. Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tailored support strategies for each student, collaborating closely with educators, therapists, and other professionals. Cultivate a nurturing and inclusive learning environment by fostering positive relationships with students, nurturing their emotional well-being, confidence, and self-esteem. Support students during lessons, facilitating their engagement with the curriculum and helping them overcome any obstacles to learning. Provide assistance with personal care and mobility requirements, as necessary. Requirements: Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is highly preferred. Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certification, or equivalent, would be advantageous. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to connect with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians. A patient and empathetic approach, coupled with a genuine passion for supporting the learning and growth of students with SEND.
