Vacancy Description
* Train to become a skilled machinist, manufacturing complex, precision parts and components from specialist materials using both manual, semi-automatic and CNC machine tools, according to the instructed methods.
* Learn to set, operate and adjust/edit equipment settings.
* Use a range of hand tools, power tools and measuring devices in the correct and safe way.
* Be trained in the use of different methods of measuring accuracy and tolerances, using gauges and micrometres.

Training
Training to be Provided
* Apprentices will undertake a Machining Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard programme.
* This will include a full-time period of practical workshop based ‘off-the-job’ training at SETA’s Apprenticeship Centre in Southampton.
* You will also begin a technical certificate (depending on your prior attainments) where you will be required to attend SETA one day a week over two academic years.
* After your initial training at SETA, you will be with your employer working on developing your skills for your End Point Assessment.
