Traffic Management Operative TTMBC Course - Introduction to Traffic Management
We are running a TTMBC course on the 23rd of September at our offices in Cullompton. The course will start at 0800 and finish around 1300.
On completion of the session, learners will:
1. Be aware of the relevant codes of practice and other associated documentation when involved in traffic management, be mindful of Sector Schemes, and understand the QA process and NHSS documents.
2. Be aware of the different types of roads across the UK road network and which roads/works are covered by which NHSS documents and the various classifications of “road users” i.e. pedestrians, horse riders, cyclists, etc.
3. Understand the different terminology used in the TTM industry concerning different roads and the process(es) required to become a qualified Operative and obtain a skills registration card.
4. Be aware of Health and Safety requirements including risk assessments and method statements to understand the variety of TTM equipment and the basic principles of its use.
5. Understand what constitutes a safety zone and be aware of the general PPE requirements.
6. Understand crossing the carriageway HSE CIS53 and be aware of the different types of vehicles used in TTM and where they are used.
7. Be aware of the safe way to enter/exit a site and understand the environment where learners are expected to work as well as the need to maintain sites, and what is involved.
8. Know how to deal with accidents and emergencies within the work area.
On completion, all learners will complete a multiple-choice question paper with a 75% pass mark. Lantra Awards will make certification for successful learners, which is valid for 6 months only.
The cost of the course is £156 + VAT.

After completion of the course, you will be able to apply for Traffic Management positions with us. We currently hire for all the major traffic management across the southwest on a temp or temp to perm basis.
Successful candidates for the role of TM Operative should have:
1. Ability to work as part of a team.
2. A recognised traffic management qualification such as a TTMBC.
3. Ability to carry out work to a high standard.
4. Good communication skills.
Applicants must have:
1. Good timekeeping skills and a willingness and flexibility to undertake some shifts out of normal working hours.
2. A willingness to carry out other tasks upon request.
Hours of work: Monday - Friday, days & nights.
Rate of Pay: Up to £138 per shift or £11.50 per hour with enhanced payments for night work.
These will be PAYE positions, so you will benefit from:
1. Accrued Holiday Pay from day one.
2. Pension contributions (after a qualifying period).
3. Weekly Pay.
4. No umbrella payments or fees.
5. Only Tax and National Insurance deductions, which will be shown on your payslip.
