The role of Refugee and Migration Development Officer will be at the forefront of making sure Liverpool is a welcoming city for all our residents and the Council is a welcoming organisation. The role is an opportunity to join our well-established Refugee and Migration Development (Our Liverpool) team. The Development team focus on driving the Council’s agenda to create a welcoming city and a welcoming council. The role is a varied one which includes: working to bring internal and external partners together; creating and coordinating projects; advising and training colleagues / partners; and working in partnership with people with lived experience. Liverpool has a long history of migration from the Chinese, African and Caribbean communities through to modern migration from Ukraine or Afghanistan; the city is a wonderful place to live and work because of the communities who have made it their home. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join us and help continue and broaden our work to enable people to live in safe cohesive communities; understand their rights and responsibilities; benefit from well-functioning services and have the opportunity to contribute their voice to shaping and delivering such services. As a Refugee and Migration Development Officer you will be part of a current team of four, within the wider Refugee and Migration service consisting of 20 staff. You will bring to the role demonstrable experience of working with partners to deliver positive results for refugees and migrants. The role is hybrid and the usual expectation will be to attend the office in the Cunard Building at least two days per week. This role is fixed term for the purpose of covering a secondment and will end on 16th March 2026.
