Job Description: Lead Technician Derby - Etches Park £47931 12.5% shift allowance Permanent contract - 40 hours per week Days and nights Your new role Hitachi Rail are currently searching for Lead Technicians to join our team in Derby. This is a permanent position working a rotating day and night shift. H itachi Rail are offering an exciting opportunity to join its growing UK Services business by joining the Etches Park team in Derby. The fleet consists of 33 five car class 810 Bi mode trains that will revolutionise rail in Derby. In this exciting new role you will be responsible for undertaking corrective and preventative maintenance, servicing, complex fault finding and repair of Hitachi rolling stock assets. Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables: Prepare for and undertake planned and unplanned maintenance activities Confirm that traction and rolling stock assets comply with operational specifications by the use of engineering processes and techniques Read and extract information from traction and rolling stock drawings and specifications Prepare for and undertake the removal and replacement of traction and rolling stock components Modify or manufacture traction and rolling stock components by material removal using hand tools Install, assemble traction and rolling stock components using engineering processes and techniques Identify, assess and rectify defects and discrepancies on Hitachi rolling stock assets Create technical scopes of work for fault rectification by other members of staff Support reliability technicians with regards reliability improvements to rolling stock assets Attend and provide technical support with failures in service when on duty Keep SAP record system up to date with clear and concise information of work carried out.
