The Role
Align JV are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer that is mechanically biased to join our M&E team. Candidates will have worked on infrastructure projects within railways, airports, highways, industrial buildings, etc. The right candidate will be supporting the Quality and Commissioning MEP Lead on the Align C1 project, which is a 21.6 kilometres section of the UK High Speed 2 (HS2) and will involve M&E Testing and Commissioning across the project.
Project Quality and Commissioning
1. Contribute to the criticality assessment of sub-systems to ensure right level of quality assurance as well as inspection activities.
2. Contribute and assess the T&C Plan and activities of the sub-contractors.
3. Guide the sub-contractors in understanding Quality contributions to the project.
4. Support on request project audits, reviews, and approval of documents.
Project execution controls
1. Report quality alerts and manage non-conformities.
2. Ensure quality of the modifications made during the project.
3. Control project deliverables compliance through inspection and audits - to authorize presentation / delivery to customer.
4. Ensure that all the REX have been and closely monitor to prevent occurrence.
Measure and improve project quality performance:
1. Facilitate problem solving during project execution phase to reduce the costs of non-quality.
2. Make sure that the relevant stakeholders are included in Customer issues solving process (if needed).
3. Implement an effective corrective and preventive action system.
4. Provide support for progress periodic reporting through quality indicators and identify improvement opportunities.
MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES
1. Bachelor’s degree or upper/or relevant experience.
2. Experience in Testing and Commissioning.
3. Experience in managing Quality tools and problem-solving tools.
4. Previous/or similar awareness on Processes and Products delivered in the project.
5. Fluent in English.
6. Experience in Quality / audit are appreciated.
7. Process and Project controls oriented.
8. Excellent Communication skills and knowledge of T&C and Quality standards.
9. Experience in operational activities and in documentation management.
10. Collaboration and team working.

The C1 Package includes the following elements:
1. The Colne Valley Viaduct which is a 3+ km long and spanning the lakes of the Colne Valley (architectural images can be found online).
2. Chiltern Tunnels – 2 x 16km long tunnels through the Chiltern Hills.
3. Western Valley Slopes (South Portal) – 2.5km of earthworks including the TBM launching portal and main compound in Maple Cross housing the TBM plant and equipment, main offices and tunnel/viaduct precast yards.
4. 5 x Ventilation Shafts at Chalfont St. Peter, Chalfont St. Giles, Amersham, Little Missenden and Chesham. Shaft depth between 35m-65m with diaphragm walls up to 80m deep. Headhouses at each location.
