Monday-Friday, various shifts Reporting to: Senior Operations Manager and the Operations Team Contract: Permanent Location: Nationwide - working from one of our 14 depots Job Role As the successful candidate, you will safely perform a variety of tasks associated with the installation, removal and maintenance of thermoplastic and cold applied road traffic markings, utilising Somerford Multi-Mark equipment. The Ideal Candidate will: Have at least 2 years relevant experience as a Steersman / Operator. Have an NVQ Level 2 in Road Building – Pavement Marking (Machine Operations). Have knowledge of and experience with Somerford Multi-Mark Equipment. Have a valid and full UK driving licence. Have a valid HGV Licence (desirable but not essential). Be able to work independently and within a team. Be hardworking, reliable, committed with a 'can do' attitude. Be able to maintain professionalism with customers and co-workers in high stress situations. Be able to commute to and from one of our depots with their own transport. Have the flexibility to work outside of normal working hours, and able to work away from home/overnight if required. Duties & Responsibilities Drive, operate and maintain paint/thermoplastic equipment for application on parking areas, Highways, and roadways. Check performance of the numerous components of various marking equipment including air compressor, auxiliary engines, pumps, heaters, hydraulic systems, paint/thermoplastic/air/water and hydraulic lines; trouble shoot equipment failures and report unresolved problems to assigned staff. Read interpret and follow construction drawings and specifications as required to lay out unmarked various pavement markings. Operate and maintain hot (200degrees) thermoplastic equipment for the application of various pavement markings. Operate and maintain thermal lances for the removal of thermoplastic road markings. Drive, operate and maintain line marking truck and equipment for applying hot (200 degree) thermoplastic material. Operate and assist in the operation of vehicles, trailers and equipment, to include backup driving operations. Perform manual labour, including the use of hand tools and operate various equipment; drive utility trucks on a daily basis; load and unload equipment supplies and materials. Assist in the installation and removal of traffic control operations. Ensure adherence to Company policies and procedures.
