Plant Maintenance Compliance Engineer

Description
We are currently seeking a Plant Maintenance Compliance Engineer to join our elite maintenance team at Hope Cement Works, Derbyshire. This role will involve taking ownership of written schemes, maintenance registers, updating scheme drawings, and keeping all records in one area for spot inspections/audits by outside organisations and regulatory authorities. You will also own and escalate faults, with an action plan to the relevant person within the works.
The individual will be required to supervise a small team of maintenance operators and contract partners responsible for completing routine maintenance and inspection works within the scope of the areas listed below, inclusive of any corrective repairs and improvement work required. The individual must be capable of supervision, prioritising workload, coordinating actions within the relevant legislative framework, and minimising disruption to day-to-day site activities and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
* Lifting equipment - all site lifting beams, hoists, lifting accessories (specialised lifting rigs), all shackles, chains, slings and girder clamps and trolleys.
* Compressed Air Systems – including compressor maintenance, air receivers inc blasters, PRV’s and pipeline surveys to ensure safe operation and leak detection.
* The inspection and maintenance of LEV and plant Filtration systems.
* Ensure the execution of our plant lubrication strategy inclusive of stock management and storage compliance.
* Hydraulic Pressure Systems – to ensure that each system is kept leak free and in safe operation i.e. kiln thrusters (not mechanical works just system integrity).
* Water Systems – ensure Water Storage Tanks and cooling systems stay compliant with Legionella regulations.
* Oil Storage and Gas Storage + Pumping Systems – compliant with COMAH/COSHH regulations for safe storage and transport.
* FLT’s - ensure that FLT’s lifting frames, forks, masts, load computers and warning lights are maintained in good working order to PUWER regulations and inspected regularly and kept on a register. (Not mechanical vehicle maintenance). Escalate defects to Quarry Engineer.
* Machine Guarding – Ensure that all guarding on fixed plant machinery and rotating equipment is in good working order and all interlocks work as per PUWER and Machinery regulations require. Identify defects and record on register. Escalate defects to the engineering department.
This role will also involve managing the performance of a small team of maintenance operators inclusive of future development and training.

* Highly organised and driven with the ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload.
* Flexible attitude towards work: working additional hours across the week to meet business needs (relevant to project implementation).

* Provision and Use of Work Equipment regulations 1998 (PUWER).
* Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment regulations 1998 (LOLER).
* Pressure Systems Safety regulations 2000 (PSSR).
* Control of Substances Hazardous to Health 2002 (COSHH) Controlling airborne contaminants at works HSG258.
* LEV P601 British Occupational hygiene Society – Thorough examination of local exhaust and ventilation systems.
* BINDT Lubrication Analysis.
