Job summary We are looking for an experienced and motivated part time practice nurse to join the team here at St James Medical Centre 27.5 hours per week over 3 days. We are based in leafy Rawtenstall in the valley of Rossendale close to good motorway links. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be part of a team providing practice nursing services to our patient population. Main duties include; Managing Chronic Disease. Performing Cytology Testing Running vaccine clinics such as childhood vaccines and seasonal vaccines Performing monitoring test such as BP, ECG and Spiromtery and blood tests. Vaccine management. Infection Prevention and Control. Involvement in achieving QOF targets and other targets as required. About us We have a population of 8500 patients. Womens Health Advise women on national/local cervical cytology and mammography screening programmes. Undertake cervical smears Audit minimum of 20 consecutive smears each year to demonstrate adequate sampling rates. Promote breast self-awareness and provide supporting literature for breast self-examination. Take swabs for microscopy as directed. Make appropriate referrals re menopausal symptoms, osteoporosis, and heart disease. Advise on basic incontinence management and make appropriate referrals.
