Full details of the job duties/responsibilities can be found in the attached job description document and are summarised below: The Band 6 Occupational therapist will undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner and work in accordance with the standards, policies, and procedures established within the trust. To manage a defined caseload, using evidence based/patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate occupational therapy interventions. To provide an advanced standard of therapy assessment and treatment of a specialist caseload within the area of Elective Orthopaedics and Trauma and Orthopaedics to patients, carers and families without direct supervision. Access to advice and support from team leads is available when required. Effectively communicate with other professionals, such as doctors, physiotherapists, social workers, equipment suppliers as well as patients' families, carers and employers. To supervise, teach and appraise Band 5 therapists and support workers. To supervise occupational therapy students on practice placements. To take an active role in and contribute to service improvement projects that will enhance the service.
