Responsibilities:
* Develop system, sub-system, product, and software level requirements, specifications, and interface definitions.
* Conduct payload design trade-offs.
* Analyze system-level performance requirements and allocate them to subsystems/components.
* Develop technology maturation and risk reduction plans for critical payload elements and satellite subsystems.
* Support business development and proposal activities for multiple payload programs and customers.
* Negotiate specification trade-offs with customers and engineers.
* Ensure designs meet specifications, resolving discrepancies with customers when necessary.
* Provide operational support in orbit.
Required Skills:
* Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering or related field; Master's or Doctorate preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and analyze technical requirements, conduct major design reviews, and allocate functions to subsystems and hardware/software.
* Proficiency in writing proposals, including developing clear technical presentations.
* 3-5+ years of experience in satellite communications technologies; familiarity with technologies such as phased array antennas, digital processing, DVBS2X standard, beam hopping, and link budgets is advantageous.
* Extensive experience in end-to-end satellite communications payload design.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, management, and peers.
* Experience with ESA processes and projects is highly desirable.
