Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated and enthusiastic GPs to be part of our dedicated, enthusiastic and proactive multidisciplinary team to support the GP Out of Hours Services (GP OOH) in Central Cheshire.
The GP OOH Service provides medical care to patients requiring urgent medical assessment, advice, treatment or referral out of hours. You will be working as part of an integrated team with triage nurses, advanced community practitioners, technicians, call handlers and a service management team.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for committed GPs to work on a sessional basis who are interested in developing the service model. We work closely with partners and communities to deliver NHS services that are safe, caring and effective.
Pay rates are competitive and sessions are provided during the evenings, weekends, overnight and bank holidays. Our service management team will work with you to support a positive work-life balance and tailor shift patterns to suit personal circumstances and lifestyle. Positions are available at Leighton Hospital, Crewe, and Victoria Infirmary, Northwich. This role can be worked on a contracted basis or zero hours contract.
GPs will need to be confident operating in a model whereby they will support ED with managing primary care presentations across the out of hours period to enhance patient experience and reduce ED attendances. We are continually working to improve the quality of care we provide including telephone consultations, home visits and face to face appointments working collaboratively with colleagues in the Urgent Treatment Centre to deliver excellent patient care.
