Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Head of Solar UK to oversee the Acquisition and Partnerships venture.
* Drive the company's strategic objectives by securing profitable partnerships and acquisitions of utility-scale solar projects.
* Identify, develop, and close business relationships with external partners (developers, financial advisors, etc.), as well as Greenfield project opportunities.
* Lead and manage a team of Business Development Managers and Developers, while overseeing cross-functional project teams of varying sizes.
* Oversee investment cases and negotiations with partners, ensuring successful project acquisitions from origination to ready-to-build status. Monitor and interpret technical and regulatory developments, delivering comprehensive reports to stakeholders.
* Develop and implement the market strategy to drive business growth and expansion.
* Ensure effective reporting on all projects, preparing presentations and business cases for senior management to secure approvals for acquisitions and partnerships.
* Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and panel discussions, strengthening external partnerships and market presence.
Your profile:
* Proven ability to identify and originate business opportunities, supported by a strong industry network (developers, suppliers, technical and legal advisors, financial advisors, etc.).
* Skilled in building and maintaining strategic partnerships to drive business growth.
* Extensive experience conducting in-depth due diligence on projects from both technological and commercial perspectives.
* Deep understanding of the commercial requirements for renewable energy projects.
* Strong negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to secure and close business contracts.
* Excellent project management skills, ensuring attention to detail, adherence to deadlines, and effective oversight of long-term projects, particularly in acquisitions and due diligence.
* Ability to lead by influence, effectively managing cross-functional teams and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
* Proficiency in financial tools and economic models, with the ability to develop innovative and profitable business models.
* Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
* Creative problem-solver with the ability to identify and capitalize on new opportunities.
* In-depth knowledge of project development processes, including permitting, for utility-scale solar projects from land acquisition to ready-to-build status.
* Strong understanding of complex financial models.
* Willingness to travel as required.
