Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer to join our client’s team, contributing to automation and control systems solutions within the water industry. You will be responsible for the design, commissioning, troubleshooting, and support of control systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and program control systems using industry-standard tools and applications.
• Configure and implement SCADA systems, HMIs, and other automation solutions.
• Troubleshoot and optimize control systems for performance.
• Prepare technical documentation such as FDS and SDS.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system specifications and requirements.
• Conduct system testing, validation, and on-site commissioning.
• Provide technical support and training to clients and internal teams.
• Implement change control and ensure project timelines and resources are properly allocated.
• Assist in the specification, installation, and validation of automation projects.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
• HNC/HND or equivalent in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, or related fields).
• Prior experience within the water industry
• Proven experience in designing and commissioning control systems for automation, ideally in industrial sectors such as water or power.
• Expertise in PLC, HMI/SCADA, and telemetry systems, with experience in Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or similar platforms.
• Strong knowledge of communication protocols like Profibus, Ethernet, Modbus.
• Experience with process systems, control loops, and P&ID.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site as required.
• Relevant certifications (ECS/CSCS, SIMEMS/Rockwell) and a full UK driving license.
