Facilities : They are a Royal College Accredited Small Animal Practice. This means that they conform to the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Practice Standards Scheme. To be awarded this status, they meet strict criteria for the provision of facilities, diagnostic equipment (such as x-rays, ECG, ultrasound, and laboratory analysis), nursing care, anaesthesia, and medications. They are also approved by the RCVS as a Training Practice for Veterinary Nurses.
Team Info : They are a team of 4 surgeons, 4 RVNs, 2 ACAs, and 2 Receptionists.
Role : Due to one of their nurses taking a fantastic opportunity our client is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them on a permanent basis.
Duties : The nursing role at this surgery comprises a range of medical and surgical responsibilities and a variety of cases. From assisting with hospitalised patients, dispensing medication, monitoring anaesthetic cases, preparing laboratory samples, and helping with diagnostic imaging: X-rays / Ultrasound to preoperative and post-operative patient care.
Hours :
1. The general hours achieve a comfortable work-life balance: and the nurses have one out of three Fridays off depending on the rota the starting times for the weekdays are either 8.30 am with a 530 pm finish or 900 am with a 6.30 pm.
2. They also work one of four Saturdays ( 9-1 pm only ): to support the Vet, ACA, and Receptionist.
3. They can make the hours more bespoke to suit and to fit in with the team and the salary can be adjusted pro-rata accordingly.
4. The rota can be tailored to fit the team and we have the support network in place.

5. The Head Nurse and Principle Vet do the Practice Management. The Head Nurse still clinical has her ECC qualifications and is now studying for her official Practice Management qualifications.
6. They are currently training one of their RVNs for the ECC course also and another is keen on Schedule 3 work and Dentistry. So CPD is encouraged and fully funded.
7. One of their ACAs has plans to pursue the Veterinary Nurse course once she gains the prerequisite grades and as they are also an RCVS Accredited Nurse Training Practice and an RCVS Accredited Companion Animal Practice, they can facilitate this.
8. The head nurse is a Clinical Coach for the student nurses.
Salary : A full-time position (average 40hr week) depending on experience for example :
9. From a recently qualified £24,750.00 per annum to a more experienced nurse at £30,000.00 per annum.
