Role: Managing Quantity Surveyor
Location: Birmingham

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a high profile, major infrastructure project in the West Midlands. The Managing Quantity Surveyor will be given the opportunity to work on one of the largest construction projects in Europe alongside an experienced and driven team. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage the project budgets, ensuring costs are kept within approved limits
2. Prepare accurate financial reports including cost forecasts and budget updates
3. Administration of contracts ensuring compliance with all T&C's
4. Review and process contract variations and change orders
5. Oversee the procurement process
6. Prepare tender documents and evaluate bids
7. Undertake interim valuations and preparation of applications for payment
8. Identify, assess and mitigate project risks
9. Liaise with clients, consultants and stakeholders, providing up to date progress reports
10. Value engineering
11. Lead and mentor junior quantity surveyors
12. Provide commercial and contractual support and guidance to the wider project team
Minimum Requirements:
1. Previously worked as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the heavy civil engineering, infrastructure or utilities sectors for a large main contractor
2. Live within a reasonable commute of the office in Birmingham and comfortable working on site for a minimum of 3 days a week
3. Excellent communication skills
4. Driven and keen to learn and develop your career
