Trident Safety and Engineering Assurance - Submarines
Full Time
Bristol/Hybrid (working towards 60% of time in the office)
What you will be doing
Within the Dreadnought Alliance, you will be working within a small dynamic team ensuring that the Strategic Weapons System is successfully integrated into the Dreadnought Platform. You will work with multiple stakeholders to manage the delivery of the Trident aspects of the Dreadnought Safety Case ensuring we deliver a safe and fit for purpose submarine capability. The role will allow for career development and opportunity for system training in the UK and US.
Responsibilities
You'll be carrying out safety assurance activities as follows:
1. Delegated to manage activity under the DSM Key Safety Function (KSF) on behalf of the KSF Owner (KSFO)
2. Delegated to manage activity under the MOME Key Safety Function (KSF) on behalf of the KSFO
3. Maintaining and developing the Design Safety Statement for the Strategic Weapons System
4. Reviewing identified hazards for impact, mitigation options and sentencing.
5. Liaising with Trident Systems Project Team and US organisations through UK/US Technical Exchanges to understand the Joint Safety Schedule.
6. Liaising with the Strategic Weapon Test Organisation and the Trident Engineering IPT to ensure change during construction and testing activities is assessed and understood.
7. Development of Naval Authority Certification documentation in support of Certificate of Safety Explosives for OME and conventional elements of DSM
8. Review of Combat Systems Design Safety Justifications and other CS safety documents
Our submarines business is responsible for the design, manufacture, supply and through-life support of nuclear propulsion-related products and systems in support of the Royal Navy's submarine fleet. The candidate should have experience of:
1. Working on safety case development
2. Integrating complex systems and/or systems engineering.
3. Knowledge of weapon systems and/or submarine design.
4. Working with multiple stakeholders with different specialisms and navigating complex organisational constructs.
5. Requirements management, including verification and validation planning.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place.
