And they do this with a team of the very best peoplesimple.Due to continued business growth,our clientis looking to recruit a Bid Manager to join their Sales Team, driving and growing sales by identifying, evaluating, and winning business with a focus on theInfrastructure (Rail) sector, one of their key areas.This is a hybrid role, so you will need to be in a suitable location to work in one ofour clientsoffices on a hybrid basis. Preferably based in theirIlkeston office(Tiverton, Warrington, Manchester, or Preston also considered), with the occasional visit to other company and client offices.
What will you be doing?As a Bid Managerwith a focus on the Rail sector, you will be integral to shaping and managing the bid process for all major Rail-related projects, particularly those exceeding £500k. Your responsibilities will encompass both strategic leadership and operational execution, as you drive forwardour clientsgrowth in the Rail sector. You will:
Establish a robust bid management process ensuring a consistent and effective approach to bid preparation, submission, and follow-up.
Develop and refine existing bid processes, embedding these into standard practice to ensure all future bids are handled efficiently.
Collaborate with the Group Head of Strategic Relationships to lead the management of the bid process for all major opportunities, incorporating necessary review processes with Senior Leadership Teams (SLT) and the Private Equity (PE) board when applicable.
Serve as the primary point of contact for theirstakeholders and third parties on joint bidding opportunities, ensuring smooth communication and alignment across teams.
Review rail market portals and tender opportunities, ensuring all relevant platforms are managed and continuously monitored to maximise visibility and access to new Rail projects.
Manage the SharePoint repository for all bidding documents, maintaining an organised and accessible record of all bid-related materials.
Work closely with the Head of Direct Sales to define the bid management system requirements in Microsoft Dynamics CRM, implementing it as an assurance function to track and manage all bids effectively.

To join the team, you will need:To hold an engineering degree or equivalentspecific experience in Rail or UK transport Infrastructure.
Experience ofbid writingfor structural or technical services.
Experience in management and coordination of major bids into the UK rail industry.
Desirable: experience of bidding into overseas rail markets and experience linked to the UK rail or bridge sector.
Must be a team player.
Previous IT experience (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, ability/attitude to learn new apps, etc.).
A full UK Driving License.
