Sports Illustrated and 90min, are looking for a talented and football-obsessed Editor to join our English content team in London. You will be covering the biggest stories in news, list and opinion format, and will be required to work to tight deadlines, handle multiple responsibilities outside of basic daily tasks, and work variable shift patterns that include weekends. Candidates must have a high-level understanding of SEO, excellent written skills and attention to detail, be eager to develop and learn alongside a talented team of editors, and communicate in an effective manner. What you'll do Write original content, news rewrites and short/long-form features in line with house style and tone. Edit, optimise and distribute news, SEO and feature pieces alongside editorial colleagues. Plan and execute daily content plans, prioritising pieces that will be of high interest to our audience. Enhance site offering around major events and make effective timely decisions. Help to manage a small pool of freelance writers. What you'll have At least 5 years experience as a football journalist or editor. Expert knowledge of football, as well as its history. Experience of working in a fast-paced newsroom environment and as part of a team. Strong communication skills and confidence to speak proactively in meetings. Ability to manage your time effectively, work shifts and work alongside editors. Excellent written skills and strong attention to detail. SEO understanding and knowledge of how to optimise content. Analytical skills and ability to interpret data. Willingness to work a flexible schedule geared around live football - evening hours and weekend shifts will be frequent. High work ethic and standards. Strong and active social media presence. The ability to access the London office at least three days a week.
