A primary school in the Skipton area is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for a Year 4 pupil with additional needs. This full-time position commencing as soon as possible to cover a long-term absence
The Role
This rewarding role involves working closely with a Year 4 child, adapting learning activities to their individual needs and helping them engage with the curriculum. You will:
* Implement strategies set by the teacher and SENCO to promote progress in both academic and social development.
* Provide consistent guidance to encourage confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.
* Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment, using resources and techniques suited to the childs learning style.
* Liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure continuity of care and support.
* Assist with daily classroom activities, promoting engagement and participation.

Requirements
* Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (minimum).
* Proven experience supporting SEND pupils in a primary school setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff.
* A patient and adaptable approach, with the ability to provide encouragement and structure.
* Two education or school-based references are essential.
* A clear enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one.
* The legal right to work in the UK.
