What's the Job About?
In this role, you will work primarily on projects to ensure the integrity of mechanical systems while maintaining compliance with company policies and statutory regulations. You will be responsible for overseeing and developing a system that tracks and records the completion of maintenance and inspections across allocated locations. Your work will involve performing a variety of maintenance and operational tasks on both COMAH Top Tier and Lower Tier storage terminals, as well as pipeline systems operated by BPA.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Ensure 98% plant availability by maintaining mechanical systems at COMAH Top Tier terminals and pipelines.
* Attain and maintain authorisations to safely work on high-pressure systems and comply with DSEAR/ATEX regulations.
* Conduct and supervise maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs on mechanical systems, including PSSR-regulated equipment.
* Plan, manage, and implement mechanical isolations and safe systems of work under the Permit to Work system.
* Act as a focal point for engineering projects, ensuring alignment with safety and operational needs.
* Supervise works near buried pipelines and support emergency responses.
* Engage in procurement activities, sourcing suppliers and managing orders within company procedures.
* Undertake functional training, contribute to team projects, and participate in working groups to drive improvement.
What You'll Need - Essential Skills & Experience:
* A recognised professional qualification in a relevant mechanical discipline (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent), or extensive demonstrable experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
* Strong awareness of fundamental Health and Safety practices in the workplace.
* Proven experience in maintenance and root cause fault analysis, with the ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies, including liaising with emergency services and statutory bodies.
* A full, valid driving licence.
* Excellent numeracy skills and a strong command of both written and spoken English.
Desirable
* Completion of a mechanical apprenticeship.
* Experience working in a hazardous process industry.

* Basic Salary: £30,000 - £35,000, depending on skills and experience.
* Overtime: Overtime paid at time and a half (x1.5) and double time (x2).
