An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Practitioner to join Eden Ward. Eden Ward is a 20 bedded ward which looks after gynaecological and surgical patients with a surgical admissions lounge preparing patients for theatre. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and work closely with all members of multi-disciplinary teams, meet the person specification and be able to perform under pressure. Applicants must have successfully achieved the Foundation Degree in Healthcare Practice and must have experience in a healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Participate in the delivery of patient care.
2. Contribute towards ward / department organisation.
3. Give support to registered Nurses and Midwives in the provision of a safe and caring environment.
4. Assist in the induction, supervision and training of Band 2 and Band 3 Healthcare Support Workers and student Assistant Practitioners.
5. Undertake specific tasks delegated by the Nurse / Midwife in charge and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies.
6. Carry out all of the core competencies outlined in the Assistant Practitioners Governance Framework.
7. Demonstrate the six C’s of Nursing: Courage, Care, Compassion, Communication, Competency, and Commitment.
