Technical Draughtsman and Lead - Attractive and Hybrid Options
Northern England - Permanent and Long Term - Military and Defence
A Technical Draughtsman and Lead is required for an international Defence and Weapons Systems company that is expanding their team. Hybrid and flexible working arrangements are available for this position.

The Technical Draughtsman and Lead will be part of the Mechanical Engineering team, supporting technical changes to existing products (i.e., Defence and Weapons Systems).
The role involves Mechanical Design, Tests, and Trials, with opportunities to shape the next generation of defence/weapons platforms and future technologies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Lead a small team of Draughtsmen and Engineers, overseeing resources and tasks, assigning work packages, and supporting their development through objectives and reviews.
* Deliver technical documentation, including drawings, models, and other outputs, following standards and configuration management processes.
* Establish, maintain, and control configuration data in line with contract requirements.
* Work according to standards such as BS 8888.
* Ensure quality of Technical Data Pack outputs through proper engineering and drawing disciplines, design for manufacture, and accurate CAD and PLM metadata.
Key Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
* Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline or engineering experience.
* Expertise in drawing standards (e.g., BS 8888), engineering, and quality standards, including GD&T.
* Proficiency in 3D and 2D CAD modelling (preferably CREO, AutoCAD, GTXImage).
* Experience with configuration management, revision control, and understanding of CAD, PLM (Teamcenter), and ERP (SAP) systems.
* Knowledge of technical office processes and standards.
