We’re looking for an experienced DevOps Manager to drive our cloud and containerisation strategy while leading a talented team in Birmingham. Your Role: As DevOps Manager, you’ll be responsible for shaping our cloud infrastructure, event-driven architecture, and microservices strategy. You’ll lead a skilled team, ensuring seamless deployments and robust system performance, all while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. Key Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of developers and DevOps engineers, ensuring high performance and continuous improvement. Oversee and troubleshoot Kafka brokers, ensuring stability and efficiency. Manage and optimise public cloud environments (AWS). Work with microservices architectures, ensuring scalability and resilience. Implement and maintain containerisation strategies using Docker and Kubernetes. Drive best practices in event-driven architecture and real-time data processing. Provide technical leadership and strategic direction across the DevOps and software development teams. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, delivering presentations and clear technical insights. Manage workload efficiently, ensuring prioritisation of tasks under pressure. What You’ll Need: Proven experience in a DevOps leadership or team management role. Strong expertise in Kafka administration and diagnostics. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS). In-depth understanding of microservices architecture and best practices. Skilled in containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with event-driven architecture and distributed systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to present ideas clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical audiences. A strategic vision for platform technologies within a modern development environment. Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and customer-focused.
