An established manufacturing client based in the DE21 is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist. This is a 12-month FTC contract hybrid role that will involve some travelling to our sites.
Key Duties
* Develop and implement category management strategies.
* Lead contract negotiations with suppliers.
* Manage purchase ordering.
* Work with suppliers to leverage savings and build long-term relationships.
* Develop a set of procurement tools as necessary, including electronic tendering, electronic signature, contract database, supplier catalogue portal, and spend categorisation tools.
* Monitor and report key procurement metrics such as savings delivered and volume of purchase orders.
* Carry out any other purchasing duties as may arise from time to time.
Key Skills
* Good technical purchasing knowledge – processes, systems.
* Stakeholder engagement and project delivery.
* Experience in purchase ordering.
* Good computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
* Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines.
