About The King’s School
Based in the beautiful setting of the Precincts of Canterbury Cathedral and St Augustine’s Abbey, a World Heritage Site, The King’s School is one of the oldest and most prestigious Schools in the country with an enviable record of academic excellence and achievement.
Role Overview
As the PA to The Bursar, you will provide essential support to ensure the Bursar can effectively manage both strategic planning and daily operations at The School. The Bursar’s office is a dynamic and fast-paced environment requiring a PA who is organised, proactive and adaptable.
The role will involve coordinating complex schedules, managing communications, and serving as a key contact point for a wide range of internal and external stakeholders such as staff, heads, governors, and parents. This position demands a high degree of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
You will organise all aspects of The Bursar’s working life, including their role with external associations. This requires a laser-like focus on meeting deadlines and objectives, along with the ability to prioritise – understanding and taking into account the context of each new demand.
Like the Bursar, you must be an energetic self-starter, able and willing to act on your own initiative. It is both a challenging but highly rewarding role!
Safeguarding Commitment
The King’s School is committed to ensuring the highest levels of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils, and we expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We adopt a fair, robust, and consistent recruitment process which is in line with the statutory Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. This includes online checks for shortlisted candidates.
All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check, references, and where applicable, a prohibition from teaching check.
