My client are experts in sustainable and digital construction, providing top-tier services to clients in both the Public and Private sector.
This proactive Assistant Sustainability Manager will handle a wide range of sustainability issues, working with all involved parties. They will be in charge of a key project's sustainability goals, including BREEAM data verification. Furthermore, they will spearhead efforts to reduce carbon emissions to Net Zero, minimize waste, and promote a circular economy.
Main Responsibilities:
* This role involves supporting sustainability reporting, performance improvements, and data verification, including BREEAM assessments during design and construction.
* The individual will contribute to carbon emission reduction, resource efficiency, and the development of new strategies, policies, and Net Zero Carbon targets for The Client.
* They will also help implement the Group Sustainability strategy, contribute to business development and bids, conduct research, identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency improvements, and promote sustainability through networking and public speaking.
* Maintain internal relationships with Regional Directors, Project Directors, Project Managers and Design Managers and external relationships with Clients, Subcontractors & Consultants.
Essential Skills for the role:
* This role requires a strong understanding of various carbon emission scopes and the ability to clearly explain them to diverse audiences, including senior management.
* Experience with BREEAM design and post-construction assessments is essential.
* The individual must ensure accurate sustainability data collection and reporting across their project portfolio, and have a proven track record of implementing sustainability initiatives across multiple concurrent projects.
* Excellent client management, negotiation, and presentation skills are crucial, as are bid writing and client presentation abilities.
* Building client relations across a portfolio of projects and any experience in delivering LEED & WELL projects would be desirable.
Qualifications and Certifications:
* Will have relevant Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability/Geography/Environmental Studies or appropriate qualifications.
* Professional membership of the IEMA.
* A valid CSCS card.
* BREEAM AP would be desirable but training will be provided.
This is a hybrid role and will be home, site and office based (E14)
