Appointed Person - Lifting

Balfour Beatty VINCI is working with a range of organisations to design and build 90km West Midlands stretch of HS2 - Britain’s new high speed railway.. Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester. It’s an incredibly exciting time to join us - we’re at peak construction with work really ramping up on a broad range of assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts. Plus you’d join 9,000 people across 72 nationalities working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region.
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Appointed Person within the Structures Team .
This role will be based on site in Water Orton, The project’s most complex network of structures in the West Midlands, this sublot includes the Delta Junction – a triangular section of the high-speed railway made up of nine precast segmental viaducts, embankments, and other bridging structures, with around 10km of track crossing a network of motorways, roads and rivers.

Experienced required
• Responsible for the management, organisation, planning and control of all aspects of a lifting operation.
•Creating Lift Plans and issuing them to the relevant appointed person, ensuring this all lift plan are in place.
• All APs under their control have clearly defined roles, interfaces, levels of authority and areas of responsibility within the project such that all lifting operations are managed effectively, and none are overlooked.
• The Lift Supervisor and other members of the team undertaking a lift are fully briefed on the contents, scope and limits of the Lift Plan.
• A Lift Plan is issued for the relevant lift only once adequate review/approval has been undertaken and any issues addressed.
