About the Role: Bring balance to the books and connection to the world at MED-EL Corporation As an Accounting Manager, you'll help keep our financials as precise as our hearing technology. By managing budgets, ensuring compliance, and optimizing processes, you'll play a key role in supporting our mission to restore hearing and empower connection. Reporting directly into the VP, Finance, if numbers and innovation are music to your ears, we want you on our team Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for monthly closing and financial statement preparation for US and Canadian operations on a timely basis. Responsible for maintenance of financial records and inventory valuations. Responsible for cash management and forecasting to ensure funds are properly managed. Responsible for fixed asset recording and maintenance. Responsible for supervision of accounting staff and management oversight of all transaction-based accounting processes from originating activity. Responsible for developing internal control guidelines, policies and procedures for budget accounting, cash and credit management, administration, and other activities. Responsible for maintenance of General Ledger and all postings including regular review of Balance Sheet accounts. Responsible for supervision of Payroll Specialist and management oversight of the bi-weekly payroll process. Maintains financial & payroll staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Works with external auditors to ensure year end close is completed timely. Assists with budgeting and comparisons to actual throughout year. Responsible for accurate reporting and setup of ERP (Dynamics Navision (NAV)) to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency with respect to all financial transactions. Work closely with Revenue Cycle Management department regarding cash posting and reconciliation customer ledgers. Assist other departments when required to support the accounting goals and objectives. Accept special projects and assignments as business requires. Search for ways to streamline procedures and otherwise improve efficiency for the department and the company. Assist other areas with ERP maintenance and troubleshooting as needed. Position Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field. Minimum 10 years’ experience in accounting/finance Experience with financial reporting requirements. CPA license is preferred. Ability to maintain concentration and attention to intricate details for extended period while sitting at a desk. Mathematical skills for computing and adjusting dollar amounts. Computer skills: Advanced Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook experience. Web portal applications for banking, charge cards, etc. Operating System Skills: Hands-on experience with enterprise-wide operating systems both the underlying processes and the automation thereof with ERP system. Microsoft Dynamics NAV experience is preferred. Accounting technical knowledge: Solid grasp of financial statement presentation (GAAP but able to learn IFRS) and underlying double-entry accounting for assets, liabilities, revenue, and expense accounts common to a wholesale-distribution company. Understanding of financial data analysis and reporting. Ability to communicate financial information into sound business language so people of all levels can understand. Firm understanding of payroll processing requirements.
