Flexible, agile and remote working opportunities available for this post.
There has never been a more exciting time to join Wirral Council’s place-shaping team. Over the last year, we have developed a major programme to regenerate the east of Wirral through the creation of a green, sustainable, waterfront community along the left bank of the world-famous River Mersey. This is one of the largest, most aspirational regeneration programmes in the country, with the potential for up to 20,000 new homes and 6,000 new jobs. The programme will not only transform the quality of life for our communities but will be key to addressing the health inequalities which exist within the borough.
To achieve this the Council is setting up a dedicated Programme Management Office within the Regeneration and Place Directorate. This is a new function which will be at the heart of the programme, and we are looking for an experienced regeneration professional to lead it.
We are keen to hear from people with experience across a range of sectors. You will have developed your skills through successful regeneration programme and portfolio delivery within a context of similar scale and complexity to Wirral. A collaborative approach is essential as is a high degree of organisation and extensive experience of professional programme management.
Above all you will act as an ambassador for the Council and Wirral working with and alongside a range of stakeholders and partners to ensure delivery of the Council’s place-shaping agenda.
You will be joining a talented and ambitious team. You can look forward to an impressive package of benefits and an organisation committed to celebrating the diversity of our workforce and collaborating to make the most of our differences. We support our people. We develop and invest in our people. We know that together, we can achieve the best for our community. Your career aspirations are important to us.
If you would like an informal discussion about this role please contact Juliet Blackburn at julietblackburn@wirral.gov.uk .
Interviews will be held March 2021.
