Site Engineer - Wales

Our client, a leading contractor specialising in delivering high-quality solutions for complex projects, is in need of an experienced Site Engineer on a permanent basis. As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that the project is executed in line with design specifications, quality standards, health and safety regulations, and close collaboration with project managers, subcontractors, and the construction team to ensure smooth project progress.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
1. Assist in the preparation, interpretation, and implementation of project plans, drawings, schedules, and work specifications including overseeing day-to-day construction activities on the site.
2. Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
3. Assist and direct site workers and subcontractors ensuring all tasks are completed according to project timelines and standards.
4. Make regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards overseeing quality control processes to ensure high standard of works.
5. Facilitate compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies promoting a culture of safety within the site.
6. Manage the procurement and allocation of materials and equipment and monitor inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of materials.
7. Manage setting out and control duties of large slabs, drainage, and structural steel.
8. Give regular updates on project progress and relevant issues to senior management.
9. Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction and provide technical advice and guidance to team members.
10. Maintain detailed and accurate project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and site diaries.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Degree in Construction Management/Civil Engineering or related field.
2. Strong knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and updated health & safety codes and regulations.
3. 8+ years of experience as Site Engineer within construction, preferably with projects related to managing large slabs, drainage, and structural steel.
4. Proficient in computer skills related to the role.
5. Strong planning and time management skills.
6. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
