As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team and take charge of a variety of complex processes across multiple departments.
Main duties and responsibilities
* Lead and manage a team of engineers and fitters across multiple departments.
* Oversee the maintenance, design, and optimisation of complex machinery while ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality standards are maintained.
Key features of the role
* Lead Mechanical capital projects within your department, modification and continuous improvement activities ensuring they meet or exceed the requirements of the KRONOSPAN LTD site's mission and objectives.
* Direct leadership of projects, contributing Mechanical elements to multi-disciplinary projects led by others and co-ordinate other Mechanical projects through contract engineering resource.
* Provide a high level of Technical Support to the site, covering the full range of Mechanical systems (i.e. Pumps, Vessels, Piping, and Minor Civil works) with a focus on H&S elements.
* Contribute proactively to the management and development of the wider engineering activities at Kronospan LTD.
* Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations and site HS&E standards, policies, and procedures for all project and engineering activities.
* Ensure contractors/service providers comply with safety and environmental standards, meeting or exceeding regulatory/statutory requirements.
* Maintain awareness of current and forthcoming HS&E legislation and advise on regulatory requirements in conjunction with the Chief Engineer.
* Zone responsibility as outlined on the Site Housekeeping Plan.
Management / Supervisory Responsibilities
* Leadership and management of designated Mechanical Maintenance Technicians and Assistant Engineers.
* Provision of leadership, development, and coaching to direct reports.
* Performance management of direct reports using the Kronospan performance appraisal process.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or HNC qualified.
* 5+ years of experience working with Manufacturing or Plant equipment.
* Ability to plan, organise, and lead teams.
* Demonstrate team leadership skills to enhance team outcomes.
* Ability to work under pressure and maintain a high level of performance.
* Ability to investigate, understand, and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
