The Role
Are you passionate about the benefits of hands-on learning and improving the social mobility and wellbeing of children and young people? Featured on the BBC, Plumb Learning CIC is a female-led not-for-profit organisation teaching hands-on plumbing skills to children and young people aged 6 to 16.
Our workshops and short courses have been proven to improve behaviour, connect families and build resilient communities. Based around a series of small achievable goals our sessions are inclusive of children and young people with and without SEND and SEMH.
Based in Hebden Bridge, but operating nationally we are now looking to hire an experienced operations and sales manager to help lead the team during an exciting phase of expansion.
The successful candidate will be highly organised and thrive within a varied and challenging role. You will be confident in communicating via email, phone and face to face and understand the importance of building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
1. Assessing referrals from schools, private individuals and local authorities including Plumb Learning’s ability to meet need.
2. Communicating all diary dates, student details and other important information with all relevant parties.
3. Managing the team’s diary as well as the SCR and supporting documents via Google Workspace.
4. Building and maintaining relationships with the council, schools, youth organisations and parents/carers.
5. Acting as DSL when senior management is not available.
6. Responding to queries from multiple platforms and attending meetings with interested organisations.
7. Actively seeking out new business opportunities and promoting Plumb Learning services using existing materials.
8. Ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice within the sector.
9. Organising travel and accommodation for the ‘out team’.
10. Applying for grant funding.
11. Liaising with our corporate sponsor to ensure both parties are satisfied.
12. Ensure proper record keeping of tools and materials and forwarding stock requests where necessary.
13. Ad hoc administration as required for the role.
Must have:
1. At least two years experience in a senior role within the education sector.
2. Budget management
3. Understanding of EHCP, EP reports, student passports etc.
4. Experience of running social media campaigns.
5. Proficient at using Google Workspace.
6. Ability to utilise technology to increase productivity.
7. Happy to work independently.
8. Knowledge of safer recruitment processes
9. Experience using LinkedIn.
10. Safeguarding level 3
11. Driving licence
12. Experience of writing successful funding bids.
13. First Aid

3. Confident ambassador for the company.
4. Highly organised and detail focused.
